G M Slater

G M Slater Brilliant slowcore/post-rock/doom/melancholia with vague hints of Have A Nice Life, Planning For Burial, etc... Although the tracks are excellent on their own, this album is at its BEST when listened to as a single entity from start to finish...
Jamison Barsotti

Jamison Barsotti Equal parts Appleseed Cast (Low Level Owl era) and early Kayo Dot. Black Ice hits the sweet spot because after the intensity of Waal, Brother/Ghost let things simmer in a soothing melodic post-rock stew, adding just enough unsettling spices until Baby Sharks Pt. 2 erupts back into the chaos that was promised earlier. I heard rumors of a new album in 2012 that never happened. Hopefully it will see light in 2013. Favorite track: Waal.

Black Ice 02:25
We've been drinking the water you've been poisoning. We drank ourselves half to death but now we're listening.
2.
Waal 06:01
i felt around, but it disappeared with the light. I know that since your brother got in that wreck, his breath on your neck and forgiveness in your will never leave you. i'll never leave you.
3.
i've been living in the last split second of my life for the past two decades. ik werd wakker, in de auto. en ik stond recht op uit mezelf. ik werd wakker, in de auto. en ik vloog uit het raam. and there's so much room left in you, let me curl up and lie in your chest.
4.
and when you wake up, i'll be drinking from your neck. i'm singing your sleep song, i'm breathing from your mouth. i'll hold you in my lungs, until your ghost becomes part of mine. and you'll never escape me.
5.
I found you under a rock in the woods perfectly pressed to the ground. Like the leaves in little sister's book.
